Jayhawk Linn basketball returns back to action tomorrow evening (1/3/25) at home against the Northeast Arma Vikings. Games begin at 4:30pm with the Junior Varsity Boys team playing a full game, they are followed by the Varsity Girls at 6pm and Varsity Boys at 7:30pm.

Jayhawk Linn Varsity Boys Wrestling Team competed at the Emporia Winter Classic today at Emporia High School. The Jayhawks finished 5th out of 15 teams today! Sophomore Landon Higgins 106 lbs won 1st place today and is now 14-0 on the season! Junior Denton White 126lbs also won 1st place today and is 15-0 on the season! Sophomore Tanner Holt 113lbs placed 3rd today and is currently 13-2 on the season. Sophomore Brady Felt 150lbs placed 3rd today and is currently 9-5 on the season. Senior Jeremy Willard 138lbs placed 6th today and is currently 8-8 on the season. Sophomore Treyton Poole 165lbs placed 6th today and is currently 7-6 on the season. Junior Shane Riggs 157lbs won 1 match today and goes into the break at 5-10 on the season.

Jayhawk Linn Varsity Girls Wrestlers competed at Atchison County Community High School Girls Invitational Tournament today in Effingham before going on Christmas Break. The Jayhawks finished 5th out of 18 teams in the tournament. Freshman Alayna McCarty who is undefeated on the season finished 1st today and is currently 12-0 on the season. Freshman Rowan Day finished 3rd today and is currently 8-3 on the season. Freshman Hailei Fortman finished 3rd today and is currently 7-3 on the season. Senior Vivien Clair Smith finished 3rd today and is currently 7-4 on the season. Senior Gracee Willard won 2 matches today and is 6-3 on the season.

We want to inform you about our process for sharing student report cards for the upcoming grading period. Report cards will be sent out on Friday, December 20th.
Digital Format: Report cards will be emailed to families unless a printed hard copy was specifically requested in the enrollment packet.
Printed Copies: If your family opted for a printed version, your child will bring their report card home on December 20th.

Dear Jayhawk Elementary Families,
This message is for families of students who ride BUS 4.
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, our transportation department will need to combine afternoon routes due to a driver shortage. BUS 4 riders will ride on BUS 8 instead.
As a result, arrival times for this route may be slightly different than usual.
A letter is being sent home with your child today if this change affects their transportation tomorrow.

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Wrestling Team today on their 3rd place finish in the 19 team Anderson County Tournament! Landon Higgins, Tanner Holt and Denton White brought home gold in each of their weight classes! Brady Felt was 4th, Jeremy Willard placed 5th, Aedin McGregor placed 5th , and Shane Riggs placed 7th overall. Great Job Boys and Coaches!
Congratulations to the Lady Jayhawks Basketball Team and Coach Thomas and Coach Krull as they win the 2024 Linn County Tournament! They finished the week undefeated with a 33-28 win over the host team Prairie View Buffaloes. This is the Lady Jayhawks first Linn County Tournament Championship since 2017. Great Job Ladies!
