Jayhawk Linn Basketball tonight hosts Central Heights at home. Junior Varsity Boys game will begin at 4:30pm followed by C team Boys and then Junior Varsity Girls games. Varsity Girls start at 6pm followed by Varsity Boys. Good Luck Jayhawks!

The following activities have been postponed or cancelled today and some will be rescheduled for another date due to the road conditions caused by the snow.
High School Basketball at SE Cherokee Postponed until another day.
High School Girls Wrestling Tournament at Butler cancelled today.
KMEA State Music in Salina is postponed to January 18th.

Dear Families,
We are excited to announce that our Kindergarten through 6th-grade students will soon participate in a skating unit during their PE class time! Your child will be bringing home a permission slip for this activity in the coming days.
This year, thanks to a generous grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the cost of the skates, typically $8, has been reduced to just $1 per child. Please ensure the signed permission slip and payment are returned to your child’s classroom teacher by January 17th.
If you would like to contribute additional funds, any extra donations will go toward future skating-related expenses to benefit our students.

To kickoff our new semester here at JES we are inviting all students to participate in our SPIRIT DAY tomorrow. We are inviting all students to stay COZY by wearing their pajamas to school.
Friday, January 10th - PJ Day at JES
Schedule change: Due to the week of weather challenges we are moving Senior Night for basketball, scholars bowl, and basketball cheer to the home game on January 31st against Saint Paul. The senior night ceremony will be held between the girls and boys varsity basketball games.
Jayhawk LInn Junior High Boys and Girls Basketball teams will end practice today at 3:15pm.
Jayhawk Linn Junior High Basketball Games scheduled for tonight at Home vs Northeast Arma have been cancelled due to the weather forecast and will not be made up.
USD 346 will be OPEN on Thursday, January 9th, 2025. We understand that some roadways are still impacted by the winter storm and if you do not trust the road conditions, we support your choice to keep your students at home. As a result, all absences will be excused should you choose to keep your student at home. Also, late arrivals will not be counted as tardy should you choose to bring your student later in the day.
Jayhawk Nation, while road conditions did improve, the district's bus routes are still icy and slick in several places. As such, USD 346 will NOT be in session for Wednesday, January 8th, 2025. I apologize for any inconvenience that this cancellation may cause.
Due to hazardous road conditions and both schools not in session tomorrow the Jayhawk Linn Varsity/JV basketball games at Colony/Crest High School have been postponed at this time. We will announce a makeup date for these contest as soon as we confirm the date.

Due to the recent winter storm, many of the district's bus routes have been impacted with icy conditions and downed tree limbs making many roads dangerous and impassable. As a result, Jayhawk Schools will NOT be in session for Tuesday, January 7th 2025. A decision concerning activities will be made at a later time.
All Jayhawk Linn activities and practices for today are cancelled due to the road conditions and extreme temperatures.

As winter approaches, we want to remind families of our inclement weather procedures, which remain consistent with previous years. In the event of school cancellations, delays, or early dismissals due to weather, notifications will be sent through automated phone calls, text messages, and email. Additionally, updates will be shared with local media outlets to ensure all families stay informed.
Jayhawk Linn basketball returns back to action tomorrow evening (1/3/25) at home against the Northeast Arma Vikings. Games begin at 4:30pm with the Junior Varsity Boys team playing a full game, they are followed by the Varsity Girls at 6pm and Varsity Boys at 7:30pm.
