
Reminder: All fall high school athletic practices begin tomorrow, check your coaches schedules for start times. Complete physicals must be turned in tomorrow in order to practice unless they were submitted to the office in the last couple weeks.

Reminder: Junior High Football Practice starts tomorrow from 3-5pm. Please bring a water bottle and gym shoes to practice along with cleats if you have a pair. Complete Physicals must be brought with you if have not already turned them in to the office.

Jayhawk USD 346 will have teachers available for parents/students to have a quick conference Tuesday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Bring your children, meet the teachers, and familiarize yourself with the building. We look forward to seeing you back on campus. PreK will announce a.m./p.m. placement during your visit.

JES will have our morning car line open again this year. We believe the morning car line will be safer and more organized than the random drop off we had last year. Please enter the car line on 5th and Locust and drop your children off at the south entrance each morning. Car line will open at 7:30 a.m. and close when our tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m.

As the beginning of school approaches, the Linn County Health Department is donating school supplies for Jayhawk Elementary students. They will have a table set up at JES during the open house on August 16th and will operate while supplies last. In addition, they are donating earbuds for all elementary students.

During Open House on Tuesday August 16th at 4:30, specific staff members from JLHS will be available for some Q/A time in the auditorium - we would like to meet specifically with incoming 7th grade parents/students as well as people new to the district, but all are welcome! We hope to see you on the 16th.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is a federal program that helps low-income families pay for broadband service and internet-connected devices. Please feel free to share this information if you or someone you know might benefit from this program. https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/

Jayhawk Nation! With enrollment underway, we wanted to remind you one more time that the Federal Program that offered free meals for the last two years has ended. With the return of paid school meals, it is important for families to complete the free/reduced lunch application to determine whether your students might qualify for either a free or reduced price meal. If you have questions concerning the procedure, please call your child's school.

Jayhawk Linn Junior High and High School Athletes/Parents
Jayhawk Linn Athletic Practices will be starting on August 15th this year three days prior to the first day of school. All athletes must get a sports physical prior to the first practice date. Complete physical forms can be picked up at the high school office between the hours of 8am-3pm every weekday or you can print the document off of our school website by going to the menu and click on documents, then click JLHS, then click athletics and scroll down to the KSHSAA Physical Form. If you have your physical completed bring your forms to JLHS office any weekday between 8am and 3pm so it can be recorded.

USD 346 Enrollment is right around the corner and school will be starting soon!!! Please remember that the program that provided free meals during the pandemic is no longer available. All schools will begin charging for meals again this Fall. We encourage all parents/guardians to complete the application for Free/Reduced meal plans. Please keep in mind, that the program does not offer a grace period this year, so you must have completed the paperwork and been approved in order to receive student meals at a free or reduced price.

Jayhawk Nation! As we get closer to enrollment and the beginning of another great school year, please remember that the Federal program that has offered free meals for the past two years has expired. Reminder: Junior High Boys Weights will start up again tomorrow morning at 8am and continue through the end of July each Tuesday and Thursday.

The USD 346 Board of Education will be holding a special board meeting on Monday, June 27 to examine bids for a district Food Service Management contract. The meeting will be held at the district office at 6:00 PM.

There will be an informational meeting for students who are interested and/or planning to attend the STARS Technical Academy in the Fall. The invitation is for students and their parents. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 at 6:00 PM, and will be held at the new STARS center which is at 1701 Laurel Street in Pleasanton. If you are interested, but cannot attend that evening, we will schedule additional opportunities later this Summer.
