Schedule Change: Saint Paul notified us this morning that the Varsity/JV Volleyball Triangular this week has been moved to Thursday, 9/29 at Saint Paul. Varsity and JV teams will play at 5pm and 6pm.

Congratulations to Celeste Schneider on her 6th place finish at the Fredonia Girls Golf tournament yesterday. Celeste has now placed in the top 10 in all 4 of the tournaments Jayhawk Linn has competed in this season!

JES will attend the Homecoming Parade on Main Street tomorrow afternoon weather permitting. Please dress your children for the predicted temperature and send them in comfortable walking shoes.

Schedule Change Monday September 26th the Junior Varsity football team will now be traveling to Lyndon for an 8 man JV game at 6pm. The regularly scheduled game at Marmaton Valley was cancelled due to not enough participants for Marmaton Valley.

Jayhawk Linn was well represented yesterday at the 1st annual three rivers league sportsmanship summit at Uniontown High School. Students from each of the league schools listened to presentations from officials, administrators, coaches, and students on the topic of building sportsmanship within our league. They then broke into small groups and shared ideas and created public service announcements that will be shared with everyone at the beginning of games later this year. Jayhawk Linn participants were Brenna Umphenour, Adison Randall, Bryton Spencer, and Jason Taylor.

Breakfast and Tardies at JES: The car line opens and breakfast is served starting at 7:30 a.m. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. If your student rides the bus, they should have plenty of time to eat. If you drop your child off in the morning, please help us make sure they arrive in time to eat and get to class by 8:00 a.m.

The Girls Golf Tourney in Erie tomorrow has been postponed until October 6th due to forecasted weather conditions.

Congratulations to the Freshman Lady Jayhawks Volleyball team today at Prairie View Tournament! They win the tournament with an undefeated record on the day against Prairie View, Iola, Burlington, Wellsville, and Anderson County! Great Job ladies!

Jayhawk -Linn's Seventh grade class will be providing tailgate and concessions on Friday night. We will be serving barbecue beef sandwiches and chips for $5.00. Tailgate will start at 5:30 and wrap up around 7:30.

Jayhawk Linn is celebrating 50 years of being a district! We would like to invite you to celebrate with us at our Homecoming Football game, on Friday Sept. 23rd. We are inviting all 50 Homecoming King and Queen Candidates to the game to be recognized at Halftime. If you are, or know of, a Homecoming King or Queen from Jayhawk Linn’s 50 Years, please let them know and have them contact JLHS so you can be recognized at Halftime. ALSO, our long time secretary and friend Shelley Cochran will be retiring from JLHS at the end of September. We are planning an Ice Cream Social for her BEFORE the homecoming football game, on September 23rd. We are SO thankful for Shelley and her years of service to our kids and our staff, we would love for you to come out and bring your best stories to share as well as wishing her luck on her new chapter. So, make plans to attend the Homecoming Festivities on Sept. 23rd and celebrate 50 years of being a Jayhawk!
