Thank you for working hard to prevent tardies. If a student misses the first 30 minutes of school 20 days a year, after PreK through 8th grade that child has missed 100 hours of school. The JES tardy bell rings each morning at 8:00 a.m.

We would also like to Congratulate Juniors Camryn Thomas and Danyka Pointer on a great first girls golf season for Jayhawk Linn!

Congratulations to Celeste Schneider on her 11th place finish at the 321A regional golf tournament in Topeka yesterday! With that finish Celeste qualifies as a freshman for the State Tournament next week in Hutchinson at Carey Park! Great Job Celeste!

The Linn County Health Department will be hosting a vaccine clinic Thursday October 20th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm @ JES and 3:00pm to 6:00pm @ JLHS. If your student is in need of a Vaccine or Flu Shot, please contact your school nurse by Tuesday October 18th for the appropriate forms and ensure availability. Flu Shots, Covid Booster Shots, and Vaccines available to all community members.

Congratulations to Celeste Schneider and Camryn Thomas on their success at the Erie Golf tournament yesterday! Celeste won the tournament and Camryn placed 6th and won the longest made putt! Great job girls and good luck as you prepare to qualify for State at the 3-2-1A Regionals held next Monday, October 10th at Lake Shawnee Golf Course in Topeka!

Jayhawk Elementary will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 28. Our teachers will be working with parents as we prepare for the annual parade and classroom parties.

Jayhawk Elementary spirit days will start with School Colors day Friday, October 7. Wear a Jayhawk color/shirt or simply wear red.

Parent Teacher Conference invitations will be coming home with your child this week. Please watch for it in their backpack. Please complete the information and return it to the teacher.

Junior High Volleyball Tourney Schedule at Uniontown tomorrow starts at 8:30am. Jayhawks will play game 1 and 2 in High School gym followed by a 1 match break and then play 2 matches in the elementary gym, then a 1 match break and then finish the day back in the high school gym. A child who misses 17 days per year starting in PreK, will have missed an entire year of accumulated school days by the time they are a sophomore.
