Jayhawk Linn High School Football Camp will be held 7/15, 7/16, 7/18, 7/19 this week for all high school football athletes. Camp will be from 7-9pm approx on Monday and Tuesday. Thursday and Friday start times will be dependent on the weather/temperatures.

Jayhawk Linn Junior High Football camp will be this week July 16, 17, and 18th from 6-8pm for all incoming 7th and 8th graders interested in playing junior high football this fall. Camp forms can be brought first night of camp. Have athletes bring cleats and gym shoes both just in case we have to go indoors due to weather.

Congratulations to the Trap Shooting team on their success at the National High School Trap Shooting Competition in Mason, Michigan over the weekend! Team 1 consisting of Bowen Wade, Alex Lowe, Hunter Bowman, Garrettt Conley, and Ryker Carpenter were one of 80 teams to qualify for the finals and finished 59th overall out of the 261 teams that qualified! They shot 466/500 targets to make the finals Team 2 consisting of Haelie Wallace, Jude Wade, Trenton Broyles, Talan Hamilton and Ayden Reno shot 392/500. Ryan Broyles qualified for the individual finals shooting 95/100 targets to make the finals! Congratulations to all our Nationals Team Shooters on a great season!

Julye 1-July 7, 2024 is the summer moratorium week. There shall be NO school related athletic activities. During this time coaches (licensed teacher coaches and coach aides employed by member schools) shall be prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student athletes whether it be practice, training, weight lifting, conditioning, competition or travel. All member school athletic facilities will be closed during this period to school personnel and students grades 7-12. If member school athletic facilities also serve as non-school community recreation facilities, these facilities may remain open during the moratorium so long as no school teams are playing and no school coaches are coaching the teams/individuals. During this one week dead period, students may attend camps or competitions but may not do so with their school coaches. This moratorium does not impact fine arts or spirit activities. Student Athletes enjoy the week ahead and have a safe holiday!

Jayhawk Linn is hosting a 5 team high school volleyball tournament tomorrow at 9 am. Admission is free. Come and eat some biscuits and gravy or grab a cheeseburger at the concession stand and watch som great volleyball! Good Luck Lady Jayhawks!

We witnessed one of the best days for Jayhawk Linn Boys Track Team in school history today! The Jayhawk Linn Boys team won 7 medals at the 2A state track meet in Wichita in the last 24hrs and come home 7th as a team in 2A. The Jayhawks dominated the hurdle races in 2A. In the 110 meter hurdles Senior Gus Grote (15.43 sec) completed his Senior year with a State Championship! Junior Trenton Broyles (15.77sec) was the runner up in the 110’s and Junior Ryan Broyles (16.37sec) finished 7th. Ryan Broyles then picked up the Jayhawks 2nd State Championship of the day in an exciting 300 meter race finishing 1st with a time 40.61 sec! The Jayhawks other state medals came in field events where Junior Cooper Johnson finished 8th in the high jump, with a jump of 6 ft and a great performance by Junior Gabe Springer and Sophomore Truman Schneider in the pole vault resulted in Gabe placing 3rd with a vault of 12’ 6” and Truman placing tied for 6th with an 11’ 6” vault! Congratulations to all of our state medalist, state participants, and Coaches on a great season!
