JES will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 27, 2023. We will begin dressing for the festivities between 12:45 and 1:00 p.m. We will participate in our traditional parade on Main Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. We will have classroom parties after the parade. Parents are welcome to participate, but you must provide your own transportation to and from the parade. We will have high school student helpers assisting us for those parents who can't attend.

Wednesday, October 25, is "Living drug free is no sweat" day. Wear sweats, sweatshirt.

Beginning tomorrow Wednesday, October 25 through and including Wednesday November 1, bus 3 will be picked up in the mornings 10 minutes earlier than the usual time. Bus 3 includes northwest Mound City, Lake Chaparral, over to 1077, and up to south Centerville. Thank you for your help.

Tuesday, October 24, is "Hats off to being drug free." Wear hats today.

Due to a shortage of bus drivers, Sugar Valley clubhouse students will be dropped off around 3:15 p.m. today. All other routes may run slightly behind schedule. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Congratulations to our Jayhawk Linn Cross Country teams that ran well at Regional Cross Country yesterday at the Greenbush Course near Girard. Each of our Varsity runners ran well yesterday in what proved to be the strongest 2A regional in the state. Congratulations especially to Dillon Champlin who qualified for the Boys 2A State Cross Country race in Wamego next Saturday, October 28th! Dillon finished 10th overall in the regional race! Great Job Dillon!



Jayhawk Linn Football closed the regular season Friday night at home with a win on Senior Night against the Erie Red Devils. The Jayhawks won 38-6 and finish the regular season with a 7-1 record finishing 2nd in the district. The. Jayhawks will host the week 9 game against the Uniontown Eagles on Thursday night, October 26th starting at 7pm.

Jayhawk Linn Volleyball season came to end yesterday at Pittsburg Colgan, the Jayhawks lost a hard fought 3 set match in the semifinals to Erie (23-25, 25-22, 23-25) at the Colgan substate. The Lady Jayhawks finish a great season with a record of 25-12 overall, a Three Rivers League Tournament Championship and an undefeated TRL regular season league record on the season.

PTO Trunk or Treat is Saturday, October 28, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Linn County Fair Grounds. PTO is hoping for the same people that made it so great last year to be there again with trunks of candy.

Jayhawk Linn Varsity Volleyball travels to Pittsburg - Saint Mary’s Colgan for the 2A Sub-State Tournament on Saturday. Admission will be $8 adults/$6 Students The Jayhawks are the 2 seed in the tournament and will start their first match at 2pm against the Uniontown Eagles. So after supporting the cross country team at Girard take time to travel down the road to Pittsburg and cheer on our Lady Jayhawks to a Substate Championship! Good Luck Jayhawks!


Jayhawk Linn Varsity Cross Country travels to Girard Saturday for the 2A Regional Cross Country Races. These will be held at the Greenbush Course west of Girard. There will be 4A regional held at the Greenbush Course Saturday as well. The 2A girls race will start at 10am followed by the 4A girls race and then the 2A boys race should start around 11:10am and then the 4A boys race will follow. If you get a chance to go admission is free, so be there to support our Jayhawk Cross Country runners as they attempt to qualify for the 2A State Cross Country Races in Wamego on October 28th. Congratulations to Celeste Schneider on her 9th place finish at the 3-2-1A State Girls Golf Tournament yesterday in Hesston! Celeste completed a great sophomore season with a top 10 medal at State! Great job Celeste!

Students at the back gate at Sugar Valley will be picked up Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19 in the morning about 10 minutes later than normal. We estimate your pickup time to be at 7:25 a.m.

Bus 8 will be running late getting kids home today, Tuesday, October 17. Also, Bus 8 students will be picked up 10 minutes early Wednesday and Thursday morning.

A beautiful day today at 3-2-1A Girls State Golf Tournament in Hesston, Kansas. Celeste Schneider and Camryn Thomas represented the Jayhawks well today at day 1 of the tourney. Camryn had a tough day but had a few great shots along the way and finished out a great Senior season. Celeste had a very solid day and qualified for day 2 with an 87 for her round of 18, which starts her out tomorrow in the top 10! Celeste will tee off at 10:20am tomorrow and everyone can follow the scoring for the tournament at highschoolgolfscores.com as she shoots for an individual medal at the State Tournament.
