Great work by our varsity basketball teams tonight at home against Altoona Midway. Both teams win! Girls Varsity win 45-36! Boys Varsity win 56-47! Both Basketball teams will finish up their regular season games on Monday the 21st against Saint Paul. JV girls and boys will play 2 quarters each followed by varsity games. Start time is 4:30pm JV girls.

High School Basketball Games Scheduled for tonight will be played on schedule. 2 Quarters of JV boys followed by varsity girls and then varsity boys. Start time is 4:30.

REMINDER - NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 18th or on Monday, February 21st. Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 22nd as scheduled.

Acting with an abundance of caution in regards to the winter weather forecast, USD 346 will cancel classes for Thursday, February 17. Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for tomorrow afternoon/evening will be rescheduled and that date will be announced at a later time. Please stay safe.

Regional Wrestling at Douglas High School is scheduled to begin at 2pm on Friday 2/18 and 10am on 2/19. Those wrestlers placing in the top 4 at regionals will qualify for the state tournament in Hays on February 25th and 26th! Good Luck to our Wrestling Team at Regionals!

RESCHEDULED GAME: Jayhawk Basketball will play their final JV and regular season varsity games on Monday, February 21st at home against Saint Paul. Congratulations to the Jayhawk Boys Basketball teams on their wins last night against Marmaton Valley. Varsity boys came away with a 58-40 victory. Next up for our basketball teams we play Altoona Midway at home Friday night the 18th. Please note the earlier than usual start time for the Varsity games. Schedule of play: 4:30pm start JV boys 2 qtrs in the main gym, we will follow that half with the varsity girls starting between 5:15 and 5:30pm and boys game will be expected to start between 6:30 and 7pm.

Faculty and Staff of Jayhawk-Linn would like to thank all community members and patrons for coming out to eat Chili and support Janie Alcorn. The outpouring of monetary support was overwhelming and we are grateful to have such a caring community to support one of our own. Thanks for the monetary donations and the items for the silent auction. It was all appreciated and will be used to help Janie with the many costs she has incurred in these past few months. We will also be selling raffle tickets for both quilts, tonight and Friday night at the home Basketball games. The quilt drawing will be on Friday. Also, through donations from our community, our staff, and the CWS Women’s Organization, the J-Store was able to gift 62 Valentine Goodie Bags to our students. The randomized drawing was a huge hit and very exciting for our winners. Thanks again for giving to our students of your time, talent, and treasure.

Great Job by our boys JV and Varsity basketball teams getting wins at Yates Center last night! Varsity boys get a 44-40 win! Our basketball teams turn right around and play at home tonight as we host Marmaton Valley. JLHS Golf Team will be selling Walking Tacos as a fundraiser tonight for their team. Congratulations to our Jayhawk spellers who competed in the Linn County Spelling Bee this morning. Tyrus Chadwick was the winner of the Spelling Bee and will represent Linn County at the State Spelling Bee on March 26 on the Newman University campus in Wichita, Kansas. Tanner Holt was the runner-up and Alayna McCarty was the third place winner. Other Jayhawk spellers competing today were Rachael Felix, Brady Felt, and Aubreigh Summers. The students were coached by JES teacher Kim Boehm and JLHS teacher Courtenay Slinkard. Great job Jayhawks!!!

Rich Hill has cancelled our JV Basketball games for tonight. So there will be no games at Rich Hill tonight.

Postponed All high school basketball games with Saint Paul scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, February 4th, are postponed. We will post a reschedule date when that information becomes available.

USD 346 will be in session on Friday, February 4. The district supports the decision to keep students at home if parents/guardians feel like their situation warrants such action.
