Bus 8 will need to run the morning route 20 minutes ahead of schedule Wednesday, November 29 and Thursday, November 30. Bus 8 will also be picking up the back gate at Sugar Valley and the north side of Mound City Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Lifetouch picture retakes at JES will take place Wednesday, November 29 starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Reminder: Winter Sports pictures will be taken this week at JLHS. Wrestling and Cheer will be on Tuesday, 11/28 and the Basketball teams will be on Wednesday, 11/29. Pictures both days will start at 2:30pm. If you want individual or team pictures remember to remind your student athlete to bring money and picture packet to school for the photographer.
Remind your high school students, grandparents, and other relatives who deliver and pick up your children, to use the car line for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Morning temperatures are getting colder. JES doors open at 7:30 a.m. to allow students in the building. The car line does take a few extra minutes of your time, extra staff members to make it possible, and some patience from all of us. Your child’s safety is worth it. Jayhawk Linn High School Basketball Teams travel to Uniontown tonight for the first ever Basketball Jamboree. The Jayhawks will scrimmage teams from Uniotown, Marmaton Valley, and South Coffey County tonight. There will be 6 sessions of play between the teams with each session having at least two 4 minute sessions. The jamboree starts at 6pm the Jayhawks will play sessions 2, 3, and 6. All of the boys sessions are in the high school gym and all of the girls sessions are in the elementary gym. There will not be admission taken at the Jamboree. Good Luck to our High School Teams!

Jayhawk Linn High School Boys Basketball will have a team parent meeting on Thursday, 11/16 at 5:45pm following high school boys practice in the high school cafeteria. Head Coach Lynn Barr would like to provide expectations and information regarding the 2023-24 High School Boys Basketball season.
Sugar Valley Clubhouse bus drop off will be early again today. We estimate Sugar Valley Clubhouse kids arriving at the stop at 3:20 p.m. Also, these changes will make bus 8 students later than normal. We appreciate your continued patience.
Two events at JES Friday, November 10. Patriotic Colors Day, wear red, white, and blue. 6th grade Salute to Veterans Program will begin at 2 p.m. sharp in the gym. Visitors must enter through the front office doors.

Tuesday morning, November 7, bus 8 will continue to be about 20 minutes early. Bus 8 will have extra students to pick up at the back gate of Sugar Valley and the back side of Mound City, including the children on 1st street, Hemlock and 850 Rd.

Jayhawk Linn Football (8-1) will play in the Regional round of the 1A playoffs tomorrow night (11/3) at Saint Mary’s Colgan (9-0) in Pittsburg, KS at 7pm on the Pittsburg High School Football Field. . For those traveling to the game admission will be $6 for students and $8 for adults, no passes will be accepted since it is KSHSAA playoff game. If you are unable to go and support the Jayhawks the game will be broadcast on the radio on KSEK 107.9 FM. Good Luck Jayhawks!!
Reminder: Junior High Boys and Girls Wrestling Mixer tonight at Jayhawk Linn High School starting at 4pm. We will have 3 mats wrestling throughout the evening. Schools attending will be Columbus, Frontenac, Fort Scott, Girard, Prairie View, and Uniontown. We have 20-30 Jayhawk Wrestlers competing tonight, so take time to come out and support the wrestlers!
Reminder: Flu Clinic tomorrow at Jayhawk. The Linn County Health Clinic reported that they will have plenty of vaccinations. They will still accept signed consent forms if you are interested.
