Jayhawk Elementary 6th grade students demonstrated their skills of inquiry and research while learning about the ancient Egyptians. Two senior Jayhawks signed their letters of intent on Thursday to play at the collegiate level. Kate Dawson will continue her running career at Pittsburg State University next Fall. JES students in Susan Schneider and Kim Boehm’s classes recently completed their Veteran’s Day projects. Students shared the veteran story of a family member or friend as well as brought in items for display. Recently, the JLHS physics students attended the KU Design Challenge. They chose to build a “rocket” out of an empty soda bottle with water inside. Again this summer, Jayhawk USD 346 will be having their summer food program. Children ages 1-18 are eligible for the program, free of charge.
