The month of November was filled with various project-based learning at Jayhawk Elementary. School Resource Officer Klayton Parscale implemented a map coordinates lesson of Linn County with the 6th graders. He worked with pairs of students and gave step by step directions about how to locate different areas in the county. Officer Parscale then discussed how this is the basis for our modern GPS systems.
In addition to this lesson, Officer Parscale also conducted an outdoor science lesson with students, while JES Custodian John Williamson assisted students with their rocket lesson.
